West Coast Heritage

Oil Paintings by Port Alberni artist, John Redford, are on display at the Rollin Art Centre Gallery. John's paintings depict the West Coast from the towering trees to the ancient historical sites. West Coast Heritage runs until Tuesday, July 20 from Tuesday to Saturdays, 11 am - 4 pm Free admission to the Gallery! Wheelchair accessible.

Surprise Gardens of the Alberni Valley

The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley presents the 2010 self-guided Garden Tour throughout the Alberni Valley. Six gardens are in the city and three at Sproat Lake. The tour takes place on Sunday, July 4th, from 9 am - 4 pm. Watch for artists in some of the gardens. There will also be raffle tickets available for a piece of garden art, valued at $300.00. Tickets for the Garden Tour are $15 adult and $12 for seniors (65+).

Down, Down the Rabbit Hole

I'm late!  I'm late for a very important date!  Come down the rabbit hole at the Rollin Art Centre.  No one is too big or too small.

Week one of the Children's summer arts and craft program, runs 10 am - noon for 5-6 year olds and 1 - 3 pm for 6-7 year olds, on Tues. July 6, Wed. July 7 and Fri. July 9.

Cost $15 per week per child.  Includes all supplies and a healthy snack.

Register at the Rollin Art Centre, Tues. - Sat. 11 am - 4 pm.

Autoharp Evening Concert

Autoharp virtuoso Bryan Bowers will perform in the Rollin Art Centre Gardens on the evening of Wednesday, July 7 from 7 pm - 9 pm. Today Bryan is ranked along side other luminaries such as Chet Atkins, David Grisman, Stephan Grappelli and Tony Rice. In 1993, Bryan was the first living member inducted into the Autoharp Hall of Fames to stand only with Maybelle Carter, Kilby Snow and Sara Carter.
Tickets $15 are available from the Rollin Art Centre, Tuesday to Saturday, 11 am - 4 pm.

Tea on the Terrace

Tea on the Terrace is being served!  Enjoy a cup of tea, coffee or a glass of lemonade or ice tea along with a scone, or mini quiche, cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, mini bites, carrot pineapple loaf or raisin cookies.  Prices range from $3.95 to $5.95.

For your enjoyment, the Barkley Sounds Community Choir will be performing.

Tea is from 1 pm - 3 pm.  There is limited seating so to avoid disappointment, reserve early.  Call 250-724-3412, Tuesday to Saturday, 11 am - 4 pm.

Christ the King Church Choir

Christ the King Choir from Kampala, Uganda will present an evening of traditional & spiritual music on Tuesday, July 13th at 7 p.m. This colourful group is very popular and includes sons and dances from their native land in their performances.
