Nine categories make up this year’s Community Excellence program. Small Business Excellence 1-10 employees, Large Business Excellence 11+ employees, Entrepreneur of the Year, Customer Service of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Youth of the Year, Children and Family Friendly Business, The Valley Environment Award, and Citizen of the Year.

A night of uplifting and inspiring music from local church and community choirs, Phil's Harmonics String Orchestra and a Bell Choir will be presented at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Friday, Apr. 17th at 7 p.m. This event is suitable for the whole family. Free!

A self-guided tour of artist's homes, studios and venues throughout Port Alberni is being held from 10 am - 4 pm on Sat. Apr. 25 and Sun. Apr 26. Tickets $15 ea. are on sale at the Rollin Art Centre & the Clock Tower Gallery in Port Alberni.

The last concert in the Timbre! Choir season "Celebrate the Magic of Music" will be held on Sun. Apr. 26, at the ADSS Auditorium at 2:30 pm. Tickets $12 adult, $10 senior/student and $6 child are available at the Rollin Art Centre, Echo Centre, Somass Drugs and Salmonberry's.
